What is POCAR?

The Purdue Outing Club Adventure Race (POCAR) is a 48 hour orienteering race held over Martin Luther King weekend somewhere in Indiana. For 2014, they operated inside the footprint of the Morgan-Monroe State Forest - Yellowood State Forest Area. The course can range from 20-40 miles as the bird files, depending on the location and planners. Teams should be prepared to cover 50 miles on foot.

Amateur Radio assists by supplementing their Safety Personnel around the course. Hams are strageticly positioned to communicate with Fire / Water Checkpoints around the course. To volunteer, contact J.Eberle (W9EB) at jgeberle@hotmail.com for more information.
